Marine Corps Family Team Building Holds 2nd Annual Kids Summer Camp
By: Penny Mouradian, MCFTB Admin Assistant
Nearly 80 kids and 30 parents attended this year’s Summer Camp for kids hosted by the Marine Corps Family Team Building. The theme of “Summer Fun” was a week to remember, including water balloons, slip and slides, a nature hike, games and lots of crafts. A main highlight included the Humboldt-Toiyabe Forest Department educating kids about animals and reptiles relevant to our environment. Special thanks to Mountain View BBQ for providing lunch to all participants and Ashford University for providing craft supplies for the entire week, plus a pizza lunch on the final day of camp. MCFTB would like to thank all the parents who came out every day and volunteered their time to help make the week a success.
Movie Night in the Park Season Comes to a Close
By: Penny Mouradian, MCFTB Admin Assistant
Movie Night in the Park debuted in June and wrapped up in September. Every two weeks throughout the summer a family-oriented movie was shown for Marines, Sailors and their families. This popular venue was a huge hit with families whose attendance surged from a few to over 70 patrons. Throughout the season, families were lounging in lawn chairs or resting on blankets while enjoying movies under the stars. The event’s success was made possible by SSgt. Dunseith (MCX) and his wife Bethany, and SSgt. Cates (S-6) and his wife Heather who donated time and space. A special thanks to Jeanette Dugan and Ashford University for providing ice cream and popcorn throughout the season. Marine Corps Family Team Building hopes to see everyone next summer!
