MembershipMembership isn't required to join and all single, unaccompanied Marines and Sailors are automatically included. The primary target market are the 17- to 25- year-old Marines residing in the barracks. The program relies on the ideas, issues, and concerns of Marines for its success. |

Benefits of the ProgramThe Single Marine Program [SMP] was established for Marines to identify concerns on quality of life [QOL] issues and other aspects of their lives. The program encourages single Marines to provide input and ideas toward programming for the SMP component areas:

Structure and FunctionMotivated single Marines, a supportive command and Marine Corps Community Services [MCCS] staff provide the foundation for a successful program. The Executive Council helps in the direction of the program and is comprised of unit representatives throughout the command. These Marines are elected to the following leadership positions: president, vice president, recorder, and treasurer [optional]. MWTC’s sergeant major serves as senior enlisted advisor to the council and keeps the commanding officer abreast of plans, programming, and issue resolution, while the SMP coordinator provides support and guidance to council membership. |
||
How SMP WorksThe representatives meet to identify and address issues affecting QOL for single Marines. These issues are then submitted to the proper agency for resolution. SMP Can Be Your Voice for QOL Issues!What do you think about the events and programs offered on base? Satisfied with your barracks conditions? Voice your opinion on issues that involve you through your SMP council! |
